This is a painting tutorial using an airbrush painting Santa Claus on an 18×24 canvas. This is a how to technique video designed to help learn techniques rather than paint this particular painting. of course feel free to paint this image. I was sent this picture and asked to paint it so I do not know who is the original artist. This was a preprimed canvas and I did nothing to prepare it in any way. A smoother surface may be easier however most quality canvases can be painted on directly if you can work with the weave texture. If I were to be heavily erasing I would need to gesso first.
